The Journal “Roczniki Historyczne” [Historical Annals] is one of the oldest periodicals in Poland, published continuously since 1925. Their founder was an outstanding medievalist, Professor Kazimierz Tymieniecki. Since several decades, the Journal has been focusing primarily on Polish and universal history of the Middle Ages and Early Modern Times. The Journal publishes dissertations, articles, contributions, minor studies and source editions, research reviews, polemics, and numerous reviews.

In recent years, Roczniki Historyczne participated in the programme ‘Support for Scientific Journals’ of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Currently, it is a two-year project ‘Development of Scientific Journals’ of the Ministry of Education and Science (no. RCN/SN/0544/2021/1, 2023-2024).

All of the Journal publications are published free of charge, without publication fees or article processing charges (APC). The Journal is financed by the State budget.
